Darick Robertson at Golden Apple Dec. 9!

Folks,
Truck on over to L.A.'s mighty Golden Apple Comics on Friday, December 9 at 7 PM to meet Transmetropolitan and The Boys artist Darick Robertson. And ’cause we're nice guys, you can even get a FREE copy of Transmetropolitan: All Around the World or The Ultimate Spider-Man 100 Project if you help Hero Initiative out in one of two totally painless ways!

• Bring in your Ralphs Rewards card and sign it up for Hero! Every time you shop, Ralphs will pay us a couple nickels at NO additional cost to you! Please note: you MUST bring in your Ralphs Rewards card—we cannot sign you up by phone number alone!

• Or bring in your old, unused cell phones or ink cartridges for Hero to recycle with Funding Factory! Your items MUST be on this list to participate!

Everyone who participates that night will get a free Transmet or Spidey book of your choice, one per customer and while supplies last.

See you at Golden Apple!

JLAs at Meltdown Dec. 3: Facts and figures!

Folks,
We're only a couple weeks away from the star-studded world premiere of ALL of Hero Initiative's Justice League of America #50 covers! The time and place is…

Meltdown Comics

7522 Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90046

The event starts at 6 PM with your FIRST chance to pick up a copy of The Justice League of America 100 Project in both hardcover and softcover editions. SEVEN of the participating artists will be there on hand, so if you're an autograph-the-book kind of person, well, this is a GREAT opportunity.

At 7 PM, we open the doors to the gallery, where ALL the covers are on display, and we auction off the first 35! Including Ryan Benjamin's below…

We've received a few questions about the event as well, so…

How much is admission?
Free. Zero. Zip. Nada. Zilch. Big donut. Show up, and have a good time! Save your money for the bidding!

If I can't make it, can I still bid?
Only if you hurry, and email our pal Joe Davidson! Proxy bidding WILL be available for peeps from out of town. Full details are on our gallery page, including Joe's email. Contact him with your bids by NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, NOV. 23!

Are these books eligible for CGC's Signature Series?
Yes. If you're a winning bidder and wish to submit for CGC's Signature Series, you can do so FOR FREE. You pay only $15 return shipping. A CGC rep will be on hand at Meltdown on Dec. 3, and you MUST leave your book there that night to take advantage of the free offer.

Is a splendid time guaranteed for all?
Yes. And of course, Henry the Horse dances a waltz.

See ya there.

Hero at Mid-Ohio con!

Folks,
Hero had a rollickin' good time at the recent Mid-Ohio Con, anchored by our ol' pal Angel Medina (above). Hero volunteers Craig and Sandy Wetterman ran a tight ship as always, and FoH (that's Friend o' Hero) Mike Grell, below, also made the scene!

But the best part was a last-minute appearance by our friend Josh Medors (below). Josh has been up and down the ladder a tad as he continues to battle cancer in his spinal cord, but it was a great boost to the spirits for all involved to see Josh!

As usual, a bountiful bevy of great pics can be found at Hero's PopCons page!

Meltdown JLA event December 3—BE THERE!

Folks,
All the cool kids are going to be at:
Meltdown Comics
7522 Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90046
Saturday, December 3 at 6 PM.

That's the world premiere of ALL 104 Hero Initiative original Justice League of America #50 covers—and we'll even be auctioning off the first 35 covers that night! Get thee to Meltdown for your ONE and only chance to see ALL this great artwork live and in person.

And in addition, many of the talented artists who participated will be there as well, including…

Norm Rapmund
Bill Morrison* (below)

Scott Koblish
Tone Rodriguez (below)

Chris Moreno
Mark dos Santos
and Mike Kunkel (below)

Even former JLA writer Mark Waid (below) will make the scene, and more talent is being confirmed as we speak. So circle the date on your calender. Or, if you're really a geek for geometry, maybe rhombus it. That'll work, too.

We'll see you there.

* Bill Morrison is the four-time winner of the "Best Hair in Comics" award, and his coiffure will be in full effect!
